Safety First

When your child starts with us, we will ask you to supply both your own telephone number and an additional emergency contact number.

Should any of the above change, please notify school as soon as possible.

It is a policy of the Governing Body that pupils wear a uniform.

The dress code does allow for an element of choice. Each item must be clearly labelled with your child’s name, which assists in reclaiming a lost item; these are can be seen by clicking here  and have been chosen in the interest of cost, practicality and safety.

Holidays & Absence

We expect all children on roll to attend every day, as long as they are fit and healthy to do so. Regular attendance is essential for effective learning and developing good attitudes to education. Good attendance is considered 96.1%

Illness

If your child is ill, please contact the school on the first day, this will then be recorded in the school pupil absence book as an authorised absence. In the event that contact has not been made, the school admin staff will try to make contact with parents/carers to establish the whereabouts of your child.

Leave of absence during term-time

In September 2013 the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 came into force. These regulations make it clear that Headteachers should not grant approval for any leave of absence during term-time, including holidays, unless there are exceptional circumstances. These regulations also state that holidays cannot be authorised retrospectively.

Any requests should be on an official school absence request form and handed into the school office for consideration prior to any holiday/eave arrangements being made.

You may be issued with a Penalty Notice should leave be taken which is not authorised. If unpaid this could lead to prosecution under section 444(1) of the Education Act 1996.
