In our daily phonics sessions, children have learnt the below sounds. We have also learnt to read and write these sounds in our English writing units through our book based curriculum.
A) Parents , double click the image gallery to view the picture cards full screen.
B) Children, can you remember the rhyme that goes with each picture? Then try to say the underlined sound.
I wonder how many children can remember all of these sounds after half-term?

The Raz kids App is available on all major app stores.
The texts that have been set fall in line with your child's recent reading assessment. In Year 1, children are at the early stages of reading texts that require more than phonics alone to decode. Don't worry if some of these books are tricky. We don't expect automatic decoding at this stage. It is important for children to read the book several times to develop this skill.
Choose a sound to practice. Children may have struggled to remember all of the flash cards from challenge 1. Choose a game to practice tricky sounds.
Finally, we have uploaded some books that we will be giving children after half-term. As well as a levelled book, children will also have a phonics book. This will support children to retain the sounds covered in phonics sessions in school. You may wish to practice reading some of these books as part of the reading challenge.
