aboutus
Taddington and Priestcliffe School is situated in a beautiful village in the Peak District National Park. We have fantastic grounds including a playing field and extensive woodlands adjoining the countryside. Only 10 minutes from Buxton, and within reach of Chesterfield and Sheffield, we enjoy an enviable location.
The school is on the edge of Taddington village and is one of the highest schools in Derbyshire. There is a strong working village community which is supportive of the school.
Governors accept pupils who live within the Church Parish, mainly the village, then outlying hamlets and occasionally pupils from further afield. We are "small" in terms of the number of pupils but we have a big heart and big ambitions.

We are proud of our distinctly Christian Ethos. Our values underpin all that we do in school. Although we are a small school, we work and learn as part of a Federation of schools, collaborating with the Limestone Peak Federation since January 2022. For our staff this means they have access to peer-to-peer support and enhanced training and development opportunities. For our learners, they get to meet other children , enjoy school trips together and compete in various cross curricular, sporting events and co-curricular events.

Some of our website pages will direct you to the Federation site so that you can see all of our exciting curriculum developments.

Head of School's Welcome
Taddington Primary School is a unique and creative environment. We believe that our school is an inspiring place which energises learning and encourages children to develop an enquiring mind, a desire for knowledge, high personal expectations and understanding and respect for others. We recognise that strong self-esteem is essential in enabling our children to lead happy and successful futures and we aim to ensure that our pupils leave us as caring, happy, confident and adaptable young people, equipped with good academic skills, an enthusiasm and passion to continue developing their learning and good social skills.
We believe we have a unique combination of features here at Taddington which makes it a wonderful place to educate children, where all members of the community work in partnership to achieve the very best for every child.
Taddington children feel valued and parents are welcomed as partners in their child’s education. The most effective education is achieved when teachers and parents work together in a genuine partnership which results in all children being proud of their work, personal achievements and their own school.
Please take the time to browse our site and find out more about our lovely school. You are more than welcome to visit us, see our school at first hand and meet our friendly children and staff.

We look forward to working with you and your child and welcoming you to our special school.

Mission
We have one clear vision:
'We Care About Each Other'
based on the parable from the Bible, the Good
Shepherd, we have a firm belief that nobody should be left behind and the needs of the few are just as important as the needs of the many now and in the future.

At Taddington, we have that vision for all of our children. We want every lesson, every experience and every day in our school, to expose our children to an education without limits – full of the joy and abundance of life.

Our vision extends beyond the school gates, where we hope to see our community touched by the values lived by our pupils. We believe that in walking through life together we can flourish together, creating the best opportunities and outcomes for all.
This vision underpins everything that we do at our school. We believe that our Christian distinctiveness enhances our care and aspiration for every individual child, drives our goals for success and enables us to teach our children how to live well. We live out this vision through our school.
