Jeremiah 29: 11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future

Luke 11:14

Forgive us our sins, as we forgive everyone who sins against us..

Isaiah 64: 8

Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

Taddington and Priestcliffe School is situated in a beautiful village in the Peak District National Park. We have fantastic grounds including a playing field and extensive woodlands adjoining the countryside. Only 10 minutes  from Buxton, and within reach of Chesterfield and Sheffield, we enjoy an enviable location.

The school is on the edge of Taddington village and is one of the highest schools in Derbyshire. There is a strong working village community which is supportive of the school.

Governors accept pupils who live within the Church Parish, mainly the village, then outlying hamlets and occasionally pupils from further afield. We are "small" in terms of the number of pupils but we have a big heart and big ambitions.

We are proud of our distinctly Christian Ethos. Our values underpin all that we do in school.

"Classrooms are industrious places where pupils listen to their teachers and get on with their work well and independently and in cooperation with their classmates." Ofsted 2018

We  have one clear vision:   'We Care  About Each Other'

based on the  parable from the Bible, the Good

Shepherd,  we have a firm belief that nobody should be left behind and the needs of the few are just as important as the needs of the many now and in the future. This means...

...showing mutual respect in every way

Our school mission

Why We're Great >

Pupil Ambassador roles

The Good Shepherd is a really important parable and supports translation of our vision 'We Care About Each Other'. We have a firm belief that nobody should be left behind and the needs of the few are just as important as the needs of the many now and in the future. Our school values, spirituality  and vision help us to deliver our mission to broaden horizons and achieve our all-round potential while believing that everyone is unique, everyone is valued, everyone is loved.

This way we are ready for everything that is to come.

At Taddington we have established a range of different pupil leadership opportunities to assist in this. We have pupil Ambassadors for  Reading, Sport and play, Diversity, inclusion and environment, collective worship, mental health and well-being.  We expect our children to take on leadership roles, we give them ownership and in return ensure they are serving others through their work.

We  call this our collective responsibility and creates readiness for the future in our pupil voice and leadership programme.

Bringing to life our christian vision

Vision and Leadership

Collective Worship addresses our school Christian values. These are covered weekly and children are rewarded should they display behaviors and attributes aligned with the values. Because we are a church school, values reference the bible with quotes that are further examined during collective reflective, a time where belief, spirituality and understanding of the value and associated biblical reference can be explored in a more personalised context.

The parable of the Good Shepherd provides a rich narrative allowing children to understand further our Christian vision. It gives children a clear example to follow. Because we are a church school we regularly explore the parable in different ways. For instance through drama/ role play, storytelling, animation and art, always linking values, vision and who we are to Christianity.
